2023: Bello task youths to be deliberate, take advantage of demography
Governor Bello has opined that the nation’s larger voting demography should be given the opportunity to lead the country under a normal democratic situation adding that it would be unjust if politicians who were supposed to naturally transit into elder statesmen and perform advisory roles continue to box others from leadership roles.
He added that the youth should use their numeric power in the coming election noting that it was not appropriate for a voting demography less that 5% of the entire population to continue to decide the fate of a demography that is likely above 60% of the voting population.
The Governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Abdulkareem Mohammed Jamiu made this known on Friday while addressing members of the GYB2PYB support group at their one year anniversary and premier of a documentary titled ADOZA which the group produced.
He noted that the youths of the country have since identified various ills in our nation which they have noted to be leadership issues across board and several youth group were calling on him to vie for the presidency position owing to the qualities they have seen in him.
The Governor noted that the current calls being made by the youths was that of revolution via the ballot box with their respective permanent voters card which he noted was their power to vote for candidates of their preferred choices in their demography.
He added that the youths of the country are more concerned about the wellbeing of the country because their future was at stake in it, hence the need to place the leadership of the country in the hands of someone who shared similar concern.
The governor noted that the youth seemed to have lost its history of recalling several young individuals one of whom was the Late Anthony Enahoro who was a vibrant voice in the fight for the nation’s independence as well as several nationalist who made their remarkable contributions as youths.
He tasked youths to take up the challenge and ensure full participation in the bid to build the Nigeria of their dreams.
