2023 Presidency: Group premiers documentary on Yahaya Bello
A group of young people in Nigeria under the aegis of “Governor Yahaya Bello To President Yahaya Bello” Youth support group (GYB2PYB), has set out on a mission to make an impact through galvanizing support for Yahaya Bello’s presidential ambition.
The group whose membership spread across the thirty six states and the FCT, on Friday 14th January, in Lokoja marked its one year anniversary with the premier of a documentary on the young governor of Kogi State titled ADOZA.
The Director General of the group, Ambassador Oladele John Nihi, in his address said the documentary allows the public to have a broad insight into the life of governor Yahaya Bello, his background, policies and testimonials. He said it’ll avail Nigerians and indeed the rest of the world an opportunity to walk in the shoes of the governor for a proper understanding of his personality and plans for the country.
Nihi said the event was an avenue to take stuck of the past year’s activity and plan for the new year which he described as the “deciding year” for Nigerian youths.
In his welcome address, the Kogi State Coordinator of the GYB2PYB youth support group, Comrade Umar Usman, said the emergence of Bello as the Governor of the state birthed a new dawn of governance.
He mentioned that youths and women in the state have continued to be accorded the right recognition and given the opportunity to lead, thereby contributing their quota to the development of the state. He mentioned the several contributions of the governor to include surpassing the thirty five percent affirmative action to women in governance, operating a youth populated government, establishment of a youth development commission amongst others.
Usman, said Kogi State is now being used as reference for a new Nigeria, calling on Governor Yahaya Bello to accept the call to run for presidency in 2023 and take the youth emancipation nationwide.
Other state coordinators who took turns to speak commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his courage in leading the peaceful revolution that has come to give young people their right of place. They said his records in Kogi are encouraging and have given them the morale to push for him to become president of Nigeria in 2023.
Governor Yahaya Bello who was represented at the event by his Chief of Staff, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku, commended the group for taking the time to dig into the life of Yahaya Bello and for putting same out for others to see and acknowledge. He noted that the youths of the country have since identified various ills in our nation which they have noted to be leadership issues across board and several youth group were calling on the governor to vie for the presidency position owing to the qualities they have seen in him.
The Governor added that the youths of the country are more concerned about the wellbeing of the country because their future was at stake in it, hence the need to place the leadership of the country in the hands of someone who shared similar concern.
He assured of the governor’s commitment to advancing the affairs of young people in whatever capacity, promising that he would respond at the appropriate time.
