2027: Abu Salihu Shaibu (SHAB) Declares Bid for Adavi Assembly Seat, Unveils People-Centred Agenda

Distinguished leaders, elders, youths, women, and the good people of Adavi State Constituency,

I greet you all with profound respect and humility.

My name is Hon. Abu Salihu Shaibu, popularly known as SHAB. I am a proud son of Kuroko Town in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, born on the 10th of November, 1993, into the family of Salihu Abu Apasi from the Uhuami clan and a proud and card carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

From a young age, I have been guided by the timeless virtues of compassion, humility, integrity, and excellence. My life journey stands as a clear testimony to the rewards of hard work, resilience, and unwavering dedication. These values have shaped my character and fuelled my commitment to serving others.

I am a distinguished alumnus of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, where I earned an Upper Credit in Accounting. This academic achievement reflects not only my analytical mindset but also my deep appreciation for discipline, precision, and effective resource management qualities that I intend to bring to legislative service.

With a deep sense of responsibility and love for our land, I have offer my self to serve my people and to formally declare my intention to contest for the position of Member, Kogi State House of Assembly, representing Adavi State Constituency in the 2027 General Elections.

My aspiration is rooted in a sincere desire to bring transformative and inclusive governance to our constituency. I believe that effective representation must translate into real, measurable improvements in the lives of our people. To this end, my legislative agenda will focus on the following core priorities:

  1. Quality Legislative Advocacy and Oversight functions: Championing bills and motions that directly address the needs of Adavi, while vigorously holding the executive accountable for the implementation of people-oriented policies.
  2. Unity and Progress: Fostering harmony across all communities and clans in Adavi, so that together we can accelerate development and create a shared future of peace and prosperity.
  3. Accountability and Transparency: Ensuring that public resources are managed with utmost integrity, openness, and prudence, so that every kobo allocated to our constituency delivers visible value.
  4. Youth and Women Empowerment: Creating opportunities for skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, education, and leadership participation, particularly for our young people and women, who are the bedrock of our future.
  5. Provision of Social Amenities: Advocating for improved access to quality healthcare, education, potable water, roads, electricity, and other critical infrastructure that enhances daily living and economic activities in our rural and urban communities.

I do not come with empty promises, but with a clear vision, a willing heart, and a readiness to work collaboratively with all stakeholders such as traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, women associations, professionals, and every resident of Adavi to turn these priorities into tangible realities.

The challenges before us are significant, but so is our collective potential. With focused representation, strategic advocacy, and unity of purpose, we can uplift Adavi State Constituency and position it as a model of progress in Kogi State and beyond.

I therefore humbly and respectfully crave your support in all forms, your prayers, your counsel, your mobilisation as we embark on this journey together. This is not about one individual; it is about the betterment of our society and the future we owe to our children and generations yet unborn.

May the good Lord continue to bless Adavi, Kogi State, and our dear nation, Nigeria.

Thank you, and God bless you all.

Hon. Abu Salihu Shaibu (SHAB)
