2nd batch of Kogi Christian Pilgrims arrives Israel
The batch 2 of the Kogi State Christian pilgrims to the 2019 pilgrimage in Jerusalem have arrived the Israel.
They arrived Israel at the early hours of yesterday, Saturday the 11th of January 2020.
On arrival at the Bengurion Airport in Israel, the Secretary of Kogi Pilgrims Commission, Deacon Simeon Onakpa who is the leader of the team charged the pilgrims on the need to be orderly in their conduct and warned against acts that could tarnish the image of the state and the country in general.
Deacon Onakpa who enjoined the pilgrims to be conscious of the purpose of their coming to Israel, urged them to adhere to the admonitions of Governor Yahaya Bello through his Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja to be good ambassadors of the state.
The second batch on arrival at the Bengurion Airport yesterday morning sighted the leader of the first batch, the spiritual leader, Bishop Dr. John Ibenu, the Chairman of the Commission, Pastor Samuel Ajinuhi and other board members on their way back to Nigeria.
Meaning while, the second batch along side pilgrims from Borno State, and the FCT have commenced visit to some sites in Nazareth. The first place of contact today, was the Church of Annunciation, where the Wife of the Kogi CAN Chairman, Mrs Bishop Ibenu who is also a member of the spiritual committee for the team prayed for women seeking the blessings of the womb and others, after which they proceeded to Beatitudes.
The team also visited other Holy sites, namely Capernaum the city of Jesus and River Jordan where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist from where a voice came down announcing: “this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”
