Debonair in style, egalitarian in outlook and democratic in disposition, is Chief Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu who is regarded as a man of immense capacity to lead and inspire. He is considered as a man committed to open governance, transparency, and accountability. He has always sought to serve the public good. Considering the unique position in recognition of this great and unassuming leader, he has been steadfast in defending the gains of our successful struggle to attained the best in discharging his duty effectively.

To him there is more to life than personal achievements. With providence he assumed the office as the youngest Chief of Staff in Nigeria to a sitting Governor. On his assumption of office, he assured the people that his oaths of allegiance and office were a tripartite covenant between him and God, on one part, to serve him and reciprocate his faithfulness through the journey so far by being a tool to bring the greatest good to the greatest number of Kogi state regardless of creed, gender, and political affiliation. On the other part, it is also a covenant with the good people of Kogi state to use his office to serve them.

To day marks 365 days in office as Chief of staff to the Executive Governor of Kogi State. For the avant-garde but down-to-earth Chief of Staff. It will also mark a remarkable year for him as a true servant of the people. Asuku believes in the unity of purpose; in the amalgam of ideas and collective execution. To him, no one claps with one hand, his exemplary leadership quality in consideration of unprecedented feats within a year in office as the Chief of Staff which has given hope, not only to Kogi central but the entire Kogi state. A true Nigerian which zeal, energy, and character is his true test as a leader. I have seen his exploits and the speed to which he wants to lead with example at all time.

Asuku’s style of leadership is truly unique and has the imprint of wisdom all over it. It is a fact undeniable that his unprecedented developmental strides which have benefited countless people which stem from his political prowess and the innate passion for humanity. His resoluteness and sagacity against all odds, his towering bravery and political heroism, only attest to God’s abundant grace upon his life. He has put the interests of the common man above partisan niceties and prioritise societal progress, set and uphold good norms, while he discharge his duties responsibly and his input in the new direction government and forethought are central to the success in the Administration of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello.

As a leader and trail-blazer, you have spearheaded numerous initiatives and accomplishments that have not only remarkably improved the quality of life in Kogi State withing your capacity, but have also set new standards in innovative governance. You are a patriot who is always resolute and forthright in canvassing your views on matters of progressive politics and state development. As cliched as this sounds, it is a rare quality only bequeathed by God to few among mankind. It is an indubitable fact that this great man is committed to lifting others along the path of success as he goes along himself.

This uncommon man strive and spend huge sum on the numerous Kogites that have health challenges across the state under the Asuku health care foundation which gulp millions of naira, and as if that is not enough, he give scholarship to many irrespective of tribe or religion. When someone is truly a visionary leader and works all his life changing the course of history by ventured in to humanity in implementing things that will improve people’s lives, posterity will be kind to him and his generation. No doubt he is redefining the quality of a leader in Kogi state, he has identify the potentials of the youth and he is exploring it for the greater good of the state.

A fair-minded man; a corporate player; a pharmacist par excellence; an excellent family man; a man loved by persons from all walks of life and across boundaries; a devout Muslim: A man of integrity; a man with a huge sense of purpose and dedication; a commanding speaker; a man with an unparalleled retentive memory; a philanthropist; a board room guru in the new direction government and a selfless volunteer. These qualities has developed over time and have been observed and recognised with admiration by the rich and the downtrodden in the society.

His commitment, passion, empathy, honesty and integrity always come into play especially on critical issues in governance. His excellent communication skills and decision-making capabilities have also play pivotal roles in the success recorded by the New Direction Government under the leadership of the Great Baobab Tree Governor Yahaya Bello which we all shelter. Asuku’s innovation and creative thinking, as well as a futuristic vision, are qualities that marks him out as an outstanding leader amongst his contemporary.

Nothing better captures the reservoir of his leadership qualities of clarity of vision, strong determination, team spirit, team motivation and diplomacy than his uprightness and hard work. What else is the best way to describe a man whose life only depends on how not only to better the lots of those that cross his path, but to ensure that he gives out his best in any assignment he is charged with. He serve and in service to other, he train followers by becoming as an example, an epitome of humanity and selflessness imbued in this self adroit leader.

I salute your integrity, wisdom, hard-work and visionary leadership which has contributed in no small measure, to the successes story of the New direction government, while I trust God for speedy perfection of good health and prosperity for you, I celebrate and honour a great exemplary leader, a peace loving and compassionate man whose devotion to the cause of our state, especially our youths is unquantifiable and epic. 365 days in office, many have concluded the story is so far, so good.
