Kogi Corps members to receive State allowance from March

By Akadiri Ademola
Governor Yahaya Bello has promised corps members serving in Kogi that they would start getting allowances from the State Government as from March 2018.
He mentioned this at the passing out parade of corps members from Taraba and Benue States at Asaya Camp Ground, Kabba Bunnu Local Government of Kogi State
It would be recalled that incidences of communal clashes and ethnic killings in both States, necessitated the relocation of Corp members posted to those parts of the country by National Youth Service Corps Scheme (NYSC) to guarantee their security and safety
The Governor mentioned that, there were reports of other Corps members posted to the State and camped in Kaduna State who he said faced serious ordeals in getting down to their camp from their different abode. He however promised to support them financially.
He however admonished NYSC officials to allow corps members that camped in the State and wanted to stay to be permitted, while he promised that the state is ever ready to guarantee their wellness.
The Governor stated expressively that corps members serving in Kogi, those who camped in Kaduna, and the ones who were willing to stay in the State, his administration would commence payment of a monthly allowance starting from march this year till his tenure expires.
