Dino fails to get bail as case is adjourned to Thursday 10th May
The bid to secure bail for the embattled senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye may have suffered another setback as the trial Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah adjourned the hearing of the case till Thursday 10th May, 2018.
Justice Ajanah in his ruling on Monday stated that the court has not received any counter affidavit s from both prosecution and defendant.
Speaking in chat with journalists at High Court premises in Lokoja, the Legal counsel to Senator Dino Melaye,Mr.Mike Ozokhome said the adjournment was necessitated by the absence of courter affidavits from both parties.
He explained that following his bail application earlier filed for his client the prosecutions had filed counter affidavit that senator would jump the bail if granted.
He noted that this was what necessitated better counter affidavit from his end but not ready when the case was mentioned on Monday.
Ozokhome stated the prosecution based the it argument of the fact the that Senator Dino Melaye Jumped out of the Police van in Abuja.
He explained further that his client told him that he was forced to jump out of police moving van after he was gassed and said be gasping for air been an asmathic patient.
He told the journalists that case was however adjourned till May 10 for hearing.
