APC Campaign in Lokoja LGA takes Ward-to-Ward rally remaining areas
The APC Campaign Council for Lokoja LGA has held its rally in the remaining Wards of the Local Government having earlier held those of Lokoja I on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the Campaign team went to Kupa South and North, Kakanda and Eggan Wards having covered Oworo the previous day.
Speaking during the rally, the DG of the campaign in Kogi West, Hon Haruna Isah urged the people to vote massively for Governor Yahaya Bello to allow him consolidate on the achievements in his first tenure.
He said the Governor had achieved so much in terms of infrastructural development, youth and women empowerment, improved healthcare and educational facilities, human capital development, among others, hence the need for him to be supported.
Hon Haruna who is also a son of that part of the LGA alluded to the fact that the Governor has also performed creditably in several fronts, including ensuring balance in the political equation of the Local Government by allowing one of them to become a member of the National Assembly for the first time in history and ensuring one of them became a member of the federal cabinet as a minister.
The immediate past National Assembly member was also quick to further appeal to the people to also overlook some of the lapses they may have noticed in the administration’s first tenure, saying the Governor was ready to correct them and provide the people of Kogi State with policies and programmes that would make life more meaningful.
Also speaking, the Director General of the Campaign, Hon Fancy-Jimoh Tiamiyu told the people that Governor Bello and the APC meant well and that he is prepared to ensure equitable distribution of resources to all parts of the state.
He assured them that the present administration was one that rewards hard work and that Governor Yahaya Bello would not abandon them if they gave him their mandate for another term. He said the government is one that rewards according to efforts.
Also speaking, the administrator of Lokoja LGA, Hon Muhammed Dan’Asabe; the APC Chairman for the Local Government, Hon Maikudi Bature; APC Ward Chairmen for the areas and other stakeholders all urged the people to pay the Governor back in the same coin he used in making practical efforts to give them political relevance for the first time in their history.
They said the government was one that identifies political anomalies and corrects them, hence the several opportunities enjoyed by the people in terms of appointments among others.
