Give Gov Bello second term opportunity to build on his achievements, traditional ruler to Kogites

The Ohiemege – Igu and traditional ruler of Kotonkarfe Kingdom, HRM Alhaji Abdulrazak Isa Koto has appealed to the people of Kogi State to give the incumbent Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello opportunity to build on his achievements in his first tenure by voting him in the November 16 governorship poll.

He gave the assertion on Monday at his palace in Kotonkarfe when he granted audience to the G21 and Ebigo Initiatives who paid him a courtesy visit as part of their advocacy and sensitization efforts towards a peaceful poll and the re – election of the Governor.

The Royal Father who expressed gratitude to the present government for the electricity being enjoyed in Kotonkarfe which enjoys more power supply than the state capital because they are in the national grid, said the gesture has attracted investors to the area who were used to enquiring about electricity situation before sinking their funds.

The traditional ruler therefore urged government to make it a priority of providing them with more dividends of democracy so as to make life more meaningful for the people.

He however prayed for continuous peace and unity among the people of the state, and further offered supplications for a peaceful election on the 16th of November.

In his opening remarks, the coordinator of the Local Government Area for the G21, Hon Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu informed the Royal Father that the group came together to preach the message of peace and togetherness even as elections are around the corner.

He said it was in that regard that they decided to be in his palace to seek his blessing as they go about their businesses of informing the people of the state on why they should see each other as one and support the candidature of Governor Yahaya Bello in the November 16th governorship polls.

Speaking, the Chairman of the G21 Initiative, High Chief Amade Edime said they decided to embark on the advocacy and sensitization in order to inform the people of the state on why they should support the return of Governor Bello for another term in view of his peaceful disposition and developmental strides.

He said the Governor has brought much development to the state including provision of power to Kotonkarfe, a town that had been in darkness for decades until the Governor came on power to bring them electricity.

Chief Edime further applauded the Governor for his commitment to security of lives and property of the people of the state, noting that he has also shown determination to ensure unity and peace of all irrespective of their ethnicity and religion.

To him as an Igala man, High Chief Edime described the Egbura ethnic groups as brothers with the Igala people as their traditional greetings and other ways of life are the same.

While also saying they were in the palace of the Ohimege – Igu to solidarise with the traditional ruler, he described him as one of the most transparent and hard working rulers in the Kwararrafa Kingdom, hence their resolve to pay him homage.
