Covid-19: NGO donates preventive kits to Kogi State Government »

The Kogi State Government on Tuesday received Covid-19 preventive kits comprising of 100 Hand washing basin, 120 pieces of Sanitizers and face masks donated by a Non Governmental Organization, Waves of Success Foundation.

Receiving the donations at the Government House, Lokoja Governor Yahaya Bello represented by his Chief of Staff, Pharm Jamiu Abdulkareem thanked the CEO of the NGO, Mr. Ocholi Yusuf Okpanachi on behalf of the state for such kind gesture.

He pointed out that the current donations and the previous one million naira cash donation by the same NGO were received by the State Government with gratitude while he also charged him to do more, noting that givers never lack.

The Governor explained that the State through the Covid-19 squadron committee had lunched a public accessible application which enables the report of suspected cases directly to the right quarters for prompt response.

He pointed out that although there were no current cases in the state, provision had been made to ensure the proper handling of any occurrence.

Governor Bello further thanked Citizens for obeying the directives given by the state government through the committee noting that such adherence had yielded much result which has helped to curtail the spread of the disease into the state.

The CEO, Waves of Success foundation, Mr. Ocholi Yusuf Okpanachi expressed that his NGO remained resolute towards contributing its quota in such trying times.

He pointed out that, the NGO which recently distributed food items and other relief materials across the four Local Government Areas of Idah Federal Constituency would continue to add its voice to national development.

He noted that although Wave of Success’ humanitarian effort were not recent events, seasons such as this required a more collaborative effort with government.
