Kogi solid minerals, natural resources Commissioner greets Gov. Bello, Muslims for Eid – el – Fitr
Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashir Muhammed has felicitated the Governor of the State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid – el – Fitr.
The Commissioner made the statement in a press release he made available to newsmen in Lokoja early Sunday.
Engr Bashir who used the occasion to offer special prayer for the continued success of the current administration in the state said Saturday’s Tribunal Judgement affirming the victory of the Governor had come at the right time and put the right icing on the Eid celebration.
He noted that even though the period called for a deep reflection on individual lives and the need to reach out to the less privileged as being preached by Governor Bello, it was also a time to pray for Allah’s protection for the administration.
The Commissioner prayed Allah to guide the government and continue to grant it wisdom to pilot the affairs of citizens of the state, stressing that Governor Bello is determined to change the story of Kogi for the better.
He urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to have deeper reflection and not allow the lessons of Ramadan fasting to be lost in the process, adding that there is need to continue to uphold virtues of sacrifice, empathy, love and unity.
“It is not a time to eat and drink to stupor or begin to live recklessly. Whatever lesson of modesty, chastity, compassion, love, empathy and compassion that we have learnt during the just concluded Ramadan period, now is the time to put them to practice.”
