Onoja Hails Gov. Bello, APC On Ibaji Assembly Victory, Wants Statewide Repeat In Saturday’s LG Polls

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja has congratulated Honourable Egbunu Atule and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibaji Constituency of the State for winning the bye-election held there last Saturday.

It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , conducted 11 by-elections across the country on December 5 to fill vacant legislative offices including this one to elect the member representing Ibaji local government area in the Kogi State House of Assembly.

In a message through his Chief Press Secretary, Promise Emmanuel, the Deputy Governor who noted that Egbunu almost doubled the number of votes received by his closest rival appreciated the people of Ibaji for coming out to vote, conducting themselves peacefully and standing with his party, the APC.

Onoja also thanked Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State for his style of leadership which has endeared the APC as the party of choice to the people of Kogi State. He said this is why they keep trooping out in every election to give victory to the APC.’

According to him, ‘Governor Yahaya Bello has remained true to fairness, equity and justice in running Kogi State. Every tribe and religion and zone enjoys equitable representation in government and in the spread of projects. Our people recognise this as a paradigm shift from the past and are motivated to keep supporting the APC administration in the state.’

The Deputy Governor also thanked the State and Zonal structures of the APC especially the Ibaji APC stakeholders for their hard work. He added that the governing party has now achieved 25 out of 25 representation in the legislature to which his Kogi East Senatorial District has contributed all 11 seats in contest there.

Chief Onoja reminded Kogites that tomorrow, Saturday December 12 was the much awaited local council polls in the state and urged voters to come out and vote the APC en mass as usual so the administration can have the political leverage to keep doing more.
