Hon Gentle describes NCWS award on Gov Bello as fitting for gender equity czar
Sunday’s awards of the Gender Friendly Friendly Governor in Nigeria, conferred on Governor Yahaya Bello by the National Council for Women Society has been described as fitting.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Women Mobilisation for Lokoja/Kogi (Kotonkarfe), Hon Abdulrahman Idris Hussein popularly known as Gentle gave the commendation while speaking to journalists at the awards ceremony held in Lokoja.
The appointee, who described the Governor as a Gender champion, noted that he has made governance easy and more inclusive, stating that was how government and leadership in Nigeria should be.
Hon Gentle who noted that governance at the hands of the youth was better because of the vision of commitment to ensuring sustainability, added that it could only get better for the state under Governor Bello.
He stressed that it was historic the way the Governor has given the most dominated yet, most active group in politics and democratisation process – youth and women – voice in his government, adding that the Governor has justified the necessity of the recognition.
While calling on the youth and women in Lokoja and Kotonkarfe to rally round the administration, he said it was only through that that the state would sustain the huge gains recorded under the present government.
