Kogi women make demand on Governor Bello to run for president in 2023

Kogi women under the umbrella of female political office holders and other women Governmental and Non Governmental bodies as well as Market Women Association have urged Kogi State Governor to submit himself for national service and contest for the presidential seat in 2023.

The women made their demands known on Wednesday when they took to the street in a 10km peaceful solidarity walk to the State Government House where they also commemorated with the administration on its 5th year anniversary in office.

While presenting their letter of demand on behalf of other women, Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade noted that the women believed in a democracy where they were empowered to choose their own choiced leader.

She added that the women believed the governor would be compelled to give a positive response to their demands if they took to the street.

The leader of the women stated that they have decided to demand from the governor to join the 2023 presidential race adding that their peaceful walk was to bare witness to all the good works of the governor’s administration which he has also continued to do for women as the place of women have been affirmed in Kogi.

She emphasized that they wanted to translate this narrative to every parts of the country while they sought to similarly enlighten other compatriots to vote for his candidacy at the polls come 2023.

She assured that Governor Bello remained committed to ensuring Nigeria’s enlistment amongst the great countries of the community of nations expressing that they looked forward to a favourable response from the governor in favour of their demand.
