Yuletide: Police ban use of fireworks in Kogi
The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Idrisu Dauda Dabban, has called on parents to caution their children and wards, particularly the who are fond of ‘playing banger’ (Knockout) to desist from such acts as the police is determined to deal decisively with anyone caught disturbing public peace with the use of fireworks. He said anybody caught will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
The Commissioner of Police in a statement signed on his behalf by the command’s public relations officer, DSP William Ovye Aya, advised all law abiding people in the State to go about their legitimate businesses and warns that the command will not hesitate to apply the full wrath of the law against persons who take the law into their hands.
The Commissioner while assuring that the police would continue to uphold its mandate to serve and protect, urged the public to promptly report any suspicious movement or activities within their neighbourhood to the nearest security agents.
