The essential new trend in Governance across the globe in recent times, is giving ample opportunity for young generation to participate in Governance.

More so, the recent passage of the “Not too young to run bill” into law by the National Assembly and endorsed by President Mohammodu Buhari can only point to the fact that it is high time for the younger generation to take over the mantle of leadership of our own dear country Nigeria.

Expectedly the coming 2023 Presidential election is a great opportunity for the youths to take advantage of their voting strength to speak with one voice.

Couple with the fact that over 70 percent of Nigerian population consist of the youths who are the active drivers of the National economy and political arena. This Simply means that the young ones have major and active roles to play in the political spectrum of our dear nation.

It’s against this background that it has become very imperative to warn ourselves to be weary of The old and worn out politicians who are out again with their usual stocks in trade of buying the conscience and future of our youth, using the same looted founds meant for the development of our country which they have acquired through decades of embezzlement and are deploying same to entice us in order to further mortgage our future.

The same old crooks whom , After years of converting the patrimony of most viable states of the nation’s economy into their own personal estates are still striving to expand such ungodly gesture to our national life in a desperate attempt to further enslave the future of the youths.

My fellow youths, these ugly trend must be resisted by all of us. Every well meaning youths of this nation must stand up to resist this evil episodes at all cost and by all means.

It is worthy to emphasize that if there is any State in Nigeria that has openly identified with the youths and that has allowed greater participation of younger generation in the affairs of it’s state is kogi state under the leadership of the young and vibrant leadership of Governor yahaya Bello.

Bean a youth himself, Governor Bello upon assumption of office five years ago took a drastic change in the style of governance by engaging youths in all aspects of administration of the state which is a direct departure from the old practice in which retired Elders with old and archaic ideology have been running the state aground with their insatiable appetite for looting the common wealth of the state and the future of the younger generation.

Soon as Governor Yahaya Bello assumed the leadership of the State, seasoned youths with sound intellectual prowess and performance from various sphere of life were drawn to occupy position of power and authority in the state and the State economy as since began to witness rapid growth and development ever since.

Having injected young Bloods into running the affairs of Kogi state, Governor also set up a youth development commission to interface directly with the youths in other to get them engaged positively for self-reliance and collective development of the State.

The establishment of the commission which is geared towards bringing youths into the mainstream of governance and giving the young ones the platform to harness and exhibit their potentials has given Youths of kogi State a good sense of belonging.

The youth body is made up of a crop of intelligent, energetic and enterprising individuals with great zeal and passion towards moving Kogi forward.

Kogi State is the first state in Nigeria since the inception of democracy to have created this kind of formidable platform for youths to be actively and directly involved in the Government and daily running of the affairs of the State.

Prior to Governor Bello’s emergence as Governor all executive, legislative and appointment positions, ware the exclusive reserves of the older politicians whom are usually well above sixties and seventies.years Olds.

Even the position of youths leaders of political parties were then been held by older folks.

Howbeit Governor Yahaya Bello who became the youngest governor of kogi State at his early age of 40 years swiftly change the ugly narration by exploring the talents and the best of the youths.

Accordingly he appointed youths to contribute their energy talents and resources for the development of the state.

Today, Kogi state is blessed with sound vibrant and experience leaders with young blood and capacity.

It’s therefore incumbents on Nigerian Youths to rally round Governor Bello of Kogi State to enable him replicate these great feet at the national level.

Moreover if the most agitated not too young to run agenda must see the light of day, Governor Yahaya Bello is the right man for the job.

Governor Bello represents the hope of the younger generation and stands out as the best presidential candidate to actualize the Yearnings and aspirations of Nigerian youths.
