Gov. Bello hails project execution by Kogi NEWMAP
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has commended the State Coordinator for the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP), Barr. Ladi Jatto for quality execution of gully erosion control projects across the state.
Bello gave this commendation during an inspection tour when he visited project sites at Agasa and Ozuri communities in Okene local government area.
He said his administration is keen on taking dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of the state, adding that the government had, through the instrumentality of NEWMAP, invested heavily in the gully reclamation projects in several communities which are expected to last for decades.
The governor urged the people to take ownership of the projects and ensure that they are protected.
During the tour, Kogi NEWMAP Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Jatto said the projects are executed to standards and the people have begun to benefit from them. She commended the Governor for providing security and the enabling environment to work, stressing that support received from government and the communities helped in actualizing the dream of the projects.
Barr. Jatto assured that the projects are detailed and would stand the test of time.
