Ibaji Council Chairman lauds donations to flood victims
The Chairman of Ibaji local government, Hon Williams Iko’Ojo has expressed gratitude to well meaning individuals who have contributed to the plight of the flood victims in his area.
Hon Iko’Ojo made the expression while on visit to some villages in Ibaji to evaluate the level of damages caused by the flooding.
According to him, the entire Ibaji are grateful to those who have donated cash and materials to the flood victims especially Alhaji Yakubu Murtala Ajaka (Muri) ten Million Naira (10m), Mr Egwuda Peter two hundred thousand Naira ( 200,000 ), Mr Amanabo Egbunu two hundred thousand Naira ( 200,000 ), Mr Uchola Ocholi Ugbane one million Naira ( 1m), Hon David Zachariah Idris one million Naira ( 1m) which make a total sum of twelve point four million Naira (12.4M) respectfully.
He maintained that out of the total money ten million Naira was disbursed to the ten wards of the LGAs, saying that the representatives of the wards who collected the money were the Senior kings (Onus), Senior Gagos, Councillors and IDA leadership.
Hon William’s iko’Ojo noted that every kobo realised for the flood victims must be accounted for.
The LG boss said those in IDPs camps in Edo, Anambra, Enugu, and Idah including those who are presently in Ibaji to remain calm as the government is spurred to provide succours for them, he further commended them for their resilience to withstand the devastating challenges caused by the flood.
Hon Iko’Ojo also used the occasion to appeal to spirited individuals to come to the aid of the flood victims, saying that the government can not do everything.
The Ibaji LG media unit reports that Hon Williams Iko’Ojo said words are not enough to appreciate the contributions and efforts of those who have donated bountifully to the flood victims, praying God to replenish and bless them beyond measures.
