Gov Bello attends Justice Alaba Omolaiye-Ajileye book launch in Abuja

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello was among dignitaries who graced the book launch of Hon Justice Alaba Omolaye-Ajileye, a retired High Court Judge in the State.

The book, titled: “In the interest of Justice,” is a compendium of selected judgments of the author.

Governor Bello was ably represented by his Deputy, Chief (Dr) Edward Onoja at the Launch held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, on Friday.

Delivering the Governor’s goodwill message, Chief Onoja recalled that a valedictory court session was formerly held in honor of Justice Alaba in Lokoja noting the author’s insightful speech at the event typifies him as a cerebral jurist and an accomplished scholar whose courage, discipline, and resourcefulness precede him.

He disclosed that his administration has upheld the rule of Law and the independence of the judiciary with the smooth succession of Chief Judges in Kogi State. He added that Kogi State under his watch has since laid to rest, parochial sentiments of tribal, religious, gender, and class differences.

Governor Bello who eulogized the learned silk for his bold resolve and determination in always putting his thoughts together described him as a fierce defender of judicial independence.

He expressed delight that such a feat is coming from an illustrious son of Kogi State, saying the book is a national gift that could not have been more instructively timed.

The event was attended by the Lawmaker representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon Leke Abejide; NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau; FCT Chief Judge, Hon Justice H.B Yusuf; Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Mejebi; retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Hon Justice Afolabi Fabiyi, among other legal eggheads.
