Kogi Guber: OAU Youth Center Engages with Kogi Central Youths, Student Leaders
Youths and students leaders in Kogi Central Senatorial district on Tuesday converged to deliberate and strategize on how to ensure maximum participation of young people in delivering victory to Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Kogi state governorship election.
The meeting which was at the instance of the Ododo Ahmed Usman Youth Mobilization Center, saw youths and students stakeholders drown from National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), Ebira Students Association, Kogi State Youth Parliament, community youth leaders among others in attendance.
The Convener of OAU Youth Center, Oladele John Nihi in his address commended the youths of Kogi Central for uploading the peace and unity instituted by the current government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello. He also praised the governor for ensuring massive engagement of young people in the decision making process of the state.
Nihi said that Kogi state is adjudged as the most youth friendly state in the country, and emphasized the need for youths to come together in ensuring that the status is upheld and even improved on, hence the advocacy for all to support the candidature of Ododo who is already mentored by Governor Yahaya Bello to consolidate on his laudable achievements.
On his part, the Kogi Central Coordinator for OAU Youth Center, Comr. Osiako Sunday, said the meeting has ignited their passion to collectively work for the victory of the APC candidate Usman Ododo whom he described as a dedicated and development inclined leader.
The pioneer Chairman of NYCN, Kogi State chapter, Comr. Haroun Opotu in his remarks acknowledged that the level of youth inclusiveness in the Yahaya Bello administration is unprecedented, stressing that youths must take advantage of their numerical strength and intellect to ensure that the status quo is not reversed.
He commended the OAU Youth Center for taking the right step in engaging with youths and students who are the critical stakeholders in every election.
Other stakeholders who spoke at the event pledged their willingness to canvas for the victory of Alhaji Ododo.
