Pensioners Propose N150,000 As Minimum Pension
The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) Northern States and Abuja Forum has proposed N150,000 as the minimum pension in the country.
The outgoing chairman of the forum, Comrade Abdullahi Tsoho Garba, made the proposal while speaking at the election of new executives of the forum yesterday in Kaduna.
According to him, N150,000 will go a long way in addressing many challenges pensioners face in a month saying, “Considering the situation, pension needs to be increased to better their lives.”
The state chairman of the union, Comrade Aborman Ladan, expressed hope that Kaduna, under the leadership of Malam Uba Sani, will maintain the lead in paying N150,000 as minimum pension for other states to follow.
Earlier, the new Secretary of the forum, Comrade Alhassan Balarabe Musa, said the forum elected Comrade Ibrahim Aliyu Dorogo as chairman, Comrade Salisu Ahmed Gwale as vice chairman, Comrade Alhassan Balarabe Musa as secretary and Comrade Abraham Gana Jonah as assistant secretary.
