Excitement As Okun Traditional Council Receives KSUK Management Team, Monarchs Assures GYB of Full Loyalty

The Okun Traditional Council has described the establishment of Kogi State University Kabba by the Governor of Kogi State as a treasured gift. The commendation came during the reception of the management team of the institution on Tuesday by the royal fathers in Kabba.

The management team of the university headed by its vice chancellor, professor KIT Eniola, was led to the palace of the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi by the Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Hon Wemi Jones, where members of the traditional Council were waiting to receive them.

The Commissioner who lauded the team as consisting of accomplished scholars and administrators, noted that the actualization and advancement of the university is utmost in the heart of Governor Yahaya Bello.

Assuring the management of the maximum support and hospitality, the Obaro noted that education is the ‘industry’ of the Okun people, and that explained why the people of Okunland are highly appreciative of Governor Yahaya Bello for deeming it fit to honor them with the university.

The revered monarch told the delegation that a plan is in place for a massive endowment fund that will distinguish the university from others.

The Obaro encouraged the members of the university management to enthrone merit, assuring them that as enlightened people, the traditional Council would not make any requests that would undermine due process and merit-based considerations.

The vice chancellor thanked the Governor of the state, commending him for a clear vision on Education and development.

He said that the presence of a university in a given locality guarantees enrolments of students, talents and investors who in turn attract development.

Professor Eniola appreciated the monarchs, assuring them that he had come home to work.
