Kogi Guber: NANS Endorse APC Candidate, Donates Bus to Support Campaign »

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), have endorsed the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Kogi State, Ododo Ahmed Usman.

Comr. Akinteye Babatunde, NANS Vice President External Affairs and former NANS President, Comr. Asefo Sunday, who led a delegation to a meeting with Governor Yahaya Bello in Lokoja on Sunday said, the decision to endorse Ododo was reached after due consultation and considerations with the relevant stakeholders in the state, who all agreed to work for the APC governorship candidate.

The apex students body stated that Governor Yahaya Bello has done so much for students of Kogi State hence their believe that supporting the candidate of the ruling party means continuity of Governor Bello’s good leadership especially for students.

They praised the governor for establishing two (2) universities within his tenure, paying all students WAEC fee, ensuring uninterrupted academic calendar in the state, and appointment of young people into leadership positions. They expressed optimism that, Alhaji Usman Ododo, being a critical member of the New Direction Government is properly equipped to consolidate on the students friendly policies of Governor Yahaya Bello.

NANS donated a branded bus to boost campaign activities ahead of the November 11 governorship election.

Responding, Governor Yahaya Bello praised NANS for acknowledging the feat of the New Direction government in the education sector.

While thanking the students body for their support, Governor Bello urged them to mobilize students to come out en masse to cast their votes for APC at the November 11 poll, assuring that Ododo, when voted in would not disappoint students in the state.
