Guber polls: Gov. Bello commends smooth process
…says report of election violence, mere fabrication
Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello has commended the smooth conduct of the November 11 gubernatorial poll noting that reports across the state as at the time of voting were largely peaceful.
The governor made this known on Saturday when speaking with journalists after he voted at his Polling Unit 11, Open space Asugbo compound, Agassa Uvete in Okene Local Government Area.
Based on reports gathered, accreditation and Voting commenced by 8:30am and the governor came in at almost an hour later to cast his vote.
When asked about election violence, he noted that the issues of violence during election as reported largely are mainly media creation by those who are not on ground.
He urged reporters to go into the history of elections in the state and compare previous elections before he emerged as the governor and elections during his regime. He alluded that conduct of election under his regime has been the most free, fair, credible and violent free.
He alluded that thus far the con conduct of free and fair election is a function of both Inec, security agencies and the citizens
The governor said that those associating him with violence have not been able to substantiate their claims even after long years of judicial tussle adding that he is a peace loving citizen.
He alluded that under his leadership, issue of insecurity have been effectively tackled and he was sure that the next administration will continue from where he stopped.
Governor Bello urged all the media not to listen to social media posts but continue to wait until INEC come up with official reports.
