…charge Transition chairmen to ensure peace, safety in respective locality.
The Kogi state governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo have assured that his administration would sustain his predecessor’s security architecture, stressing that his government would resist anyone who would undermine its resolve to give the people of the state deserving security.
The governor made this known on Saturday while addressing the press after meeting with the Transitional chairmen from the 21 – Local Government Area where he promised that his government would take the fight to the hideouts of criminals and their sponsors so that the people live peacefully.
He said “As you all know, I have been part of the system under the government of my predecessor and leader, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and security was one of the top priority of his government and with the key role that I played as the Auditor-General Local Government Area, I have never been left out in the security management of the state”.
“As one who have participated in the security management of our dear state, I have called on the transition chairmen of the 21 lGAs to hear from them first hand the challenges they are faced with as it concerns security in their respective domain” he added.
Governor Ododo said he has however charged the Local Government Transition Chairmen to continue to give the people the security that they deserve pointing out that If the people cannot sleep with their two eyes closed or go about their normal businesses then we have problem.
Governor Ododo said although security strategy cannot be discussed in the open, but just like the immediate past government, he would continue to collaborate, synergise and work with all security agencies while leading right from the front.
I want to assure you that the state would remain hot and unsafe for criminal elements, he affirmed.
The state ALGON chairman and Yagba West Transition Chairman Hon. Olokun Tosin remarked that they were assuring their readiness right from the grass root level to combat crime, following in the foot step of the previous government and even do more in security of lives and properties
