EXCO: Gov. Ododo Swears-in 2 New Commissioners, Charge EXCO Members to Work for United Kogi State

  • Govt. will complete all ongoing legacy projects, initiate new ones – Commissioner Fanwo

Kogi State governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo has charged members of the State Executive Council to remain committed to their duties urging them to work tirelessly in the interest of a united and progressive Kogi state.

The Governor made this known on Wednesday during the inaugural State Executive Council meeting where two newly appointed and screened Commissioners were administered oaths of office, allegiance and secrecy.

The two new commissioners including Dr. Helen Aderibigbe, the Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology and Hon. Atuluku Victor Levi, the Commissioner for Transport alongside other members of the Executive Council were urged to be alive to their respective roles and ensure that the confidence reposed on them by the people was duly justified.

The governor expressed that Kogi state is blessed with massive and abundant natural resources which have not yet yielded maximum benefits for the people hence it was their responsibility as a government to put plans and actions in place to ensure that kogi’s abundant resources works for the people.

He assured that his government, which plans on consolidating on the gains of the immediate past administration would give the needed support to respective Ministry, Departments and Agencies of the government to be able to achieve his administration’s mandate to the people.

During the EXCO Briefing, the State’s Commissioner for information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo noted that the Governor assured that his Renewed New Direction Agenda would continue the legacy projects of the immediate past administration and initiate new ones that would make livelihood better for the people of Kogi state.

The Commissioner added that Governor Ododo at the EXCO meeting reiterated his commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property while he urged the people to cooperate with security agencies and volunteer needful information that might assist in nabbing criminal elements.

According to Hon. Fanwo, the governor at the EXCO sympathised and identified with the people of Omala Local Govt over the recent incident in some parts of the LGA while he vowed to bring master minders of such dastardly to justice.

He said that the governor insisted that they were all servants of the people and must remain very close to the people at the grass root because his government is all about the people.

He said the state government would rebound the economy of the state by investing in Agriculture and other critical sectors which would have direct and immediate impact on the livelihood of the good people of the state.

Mr. Fanwo said Governor Ododo assured to lead from the front, promising to lead the state with transparency, courage and into prosperity.
