Joy As Hon. Jibril Abu Revives Children’s Day March Past in Ajaokuta Constituency

The lawmaker representing Ajaokuta State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Jibril Abu (WisdomBank), has successfully revived the Children’s Day march past in Ajaokuta Constituency, marking a significant return of the beloved tradition after years of pause.

The event which held at the field of Government Science Secondary School in Adogo, the headquarters of Ajaokuta local government area, saw an impressive turnout as children from various primary and secondary schools across the constituency participated in the colorful parade. The young participants, clad in bright uniforms and carrying banners, marched to the rhythm of local bands, their faces alight with excitement and pride.

In his address, Hon. Abu, who was represented at the event by Mr. Collins Ismail emphasized the importance of Children’s Day as a platform to celebrate children and their potential. He noted his commitment to fostering educational and extracurricular opportunities for children in the region.

The lawmaker said children are the leaders of tomorrow, and it is their duty as parents and elders to ensure they grow up in an environment that nurtures their talents and aspirations. He urged children to respect their elders and pay attention to what they are taught in school.

Hon. Abu used the opportunity to call for prayers for the victory of governor Ododo at the Kogi State governorship election tribunal, assuring that the administration will continue in its commitment to providing a secure and conducive environment for the growth and development of every child in the state.

On her part, the wife of the Ajaokuta lawmaker, Mrs Victoria Abu extended heartfelt wishes and congratulations to all children in Ajaokuta in commemoration of this year’s Children’s Day celebration. She emphasized the significance of providing a supportive and safe environment for every child to thrive, assuring that the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajiya Sefinat Usman Ododo is committed to promoting programs that are aimed at securing a brighter future for children of the state.

The revival of the march past was met with widespread acclaim from parents, educators, and community leaders. Many praised Hon. Jibril Abu for his dedication to community development and for creating an event that brought together families and friends in celebration of the younger generation. They noted that the event has brought so much joy to the children, expressing delight to see children celebrated and to have a day dedicated to their happiness and growth.

In addition to the entertainment, several books and other schools materials were distributed to children in both primary and secondary schools drawn from across the constituency.
