Kogi NUJ Backs OJN 5th Annual Symposium

As part of the activities to mark his birthday celebration, the Special Adviser on Youth mobilisation and Students Affairs, Ambassador Oladele John Nihi has paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Kogi State Council to create awareness on the 5th OJN Annual Youth symposium coming up on July 15, 2024 at Government House, Lokoja.

The symposium, with the theme: “ Youth Entrepreneurship and Empowerment, Panacea to foster social Economic Development In A Society” is a public discourse for sustainable Youth advancement in the state.

Ambassador Nihi said he has come to inform the Chairman and other Executive members of the 5th OJN Annual Symposium to mark his birthday, calling on the media to give the needed publicity to the event.

Nihi said journalists were always ready to work closely with the state government by giving adequate publicity to government policies and programmes.

He therefore solicited the continued cooperation of the media to ensure a fruitful and successful youth symposium.

According to him, “The symposium promises to be the largest turnout of youth that is bringing together prominent young men, top government functionaries,community leaders and traditional leaders, as well as personalities Accross the states” he said.

Nihi appreciated journalists for their prompt and wide reportage of government activities, encouraged them to always consider the corporate image of the state in their reportage.

In his own response, the chairman of NUJ, Kogi State Council, Comrade Sheidu Ademu welcome the special Adviser and his entourage, assuring of providing the needed coverage for the coming event.

According to him, “We consider your office as a very strong and stable partner in the development of kogi State, so we expressed continued partnership with the youth of the state, to ensure full implementation of the governor’s Manifesto.

“We will continue to ensure that the media provide adequate publicity especially for people knowing about government daily activities, policies and programmes in the state”, he stressed.
