“Be Diligent, Dedicated To Your Duties,” Governor Ododo Urges Corps Members

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has urged Corps members serving in the state to exhibit diligence, steadfastness, and dedication in the execution of their responsibilities.

Governor Ododo made these statements during the closing ceremony of the Batch B Stream 1 orientation course at the permanent orientation camp, Asaya, Kabba local government area.

Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, the Governor encouraged the youths to actively contribute to the state’s development, emphasizing his administration’s confidence in their ability to participate in implementing various developmental programs.

Governor Ododo called on the Corps members to serve as agents for change and contribute significantly to the growth and development of their respective communities. He emphasized the importance of being diligent, selfless, and dedicated to their duties in order to be duly rewarded at the end of their service year.

He further advised them to remain loyal and committed to their assignments by adhering to posting instructions.

Governor Ododo expressed appreciation for the Corps members dedication to learning various skills during their time at the camp, assuring them that their expertise would be utilized for the state’s development.

He assured maximum security for the Corps members and pledged to create a conducive environment for them to carry out their assignment. The Governor also urged residents of the state to prioritize the welfare of the Corps members upon their posting.

He commended the governing board of the NYSC for their efforts in training the Corps members and promised to enhance the scheme’s facilities.

Earlier, Mr. Femi Osungbohun, the state coordinator of the National Youth Service Scheme, mentioned that approximately 1,333 Corps members were inducted into the state. He highlighted the scheme’s role in equipping them with diverse skills to integrate into society, become productive, and self-reliant.

Mr. Femi encouraged the Corps members to act as ambassadors of the scheme and utilize social media platforms for promoting peace and unity in the state. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for his visit and consistent support.

During the ceremony, Honorable Monday Anyebe, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, emphasized that the orientation course provided an opportunity for the Corps members to adapt to society and make meaningful contributions.

He urged them to utilize the skills acquired for personal development and community service, while also respecting the culture and traditions of their host communities.

Speaking on behalf of the corps members, Miss Tosin Toluwalojun expressed gratitude to the Governor for his support, particularly the generous gesture of providing a transport allowance of twenty thousand naira. She acknowledged the Governor’s genuine concern for the people of the state and pledged to dedicate their selfless service to both the state and the scheme.

Accompanying the Deputy Governor were Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Hilary Ojoma Egwudah, Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Monday Anyebe, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ethics and Values, Hon. Sheik Sani Musa, Pharmacist Daniel Abdullahi, and Comrade Tijani Oricha; the Niger State NUT Treasurer, among others.
