NAKOSS President Opposes Protest, Encourages Students to Support Kogi State Government
The National President of National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), Dr. Jeremiah W. Elukpo, has urged students to stand in solidarity with the Kogi State Government rather than participating in the nationwide protest planned against the Federal Government’s policies.
Elukpo in a press statement on Monday emphasized that while students have the right to freedom of expression, protests can often lead to unintended negative consequences. He pointed out that students form a significant portion of Nigeria’s youth population, including in Kogi State, and stressed the importance of not allowing themselves to be used as agents of destruction.
The NAKOSS President highlighted the student-friendly policies and efforts of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. He praised the Governor for his commitment to students and youths, noting that the Ministry of Youth & Sports Development, under the Governor’s mandate, ensures a supportive environment for students and regularly provides feedback on their needs.
Elukpo officially dissociated Kogi State students from the planned protest, urging them to support the state government, which he believes has their best interests at heart.
Dr. Elukpo concluded his statement by reaffirming his belief in the positive intentions of the Governor towards the students of Kogi State.
