Kogi First Lady Lauds Role of Women in Community Development
The wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has praised the important role women play in promoting community development, emphasizing the need for greater unity among them to foster enhanced growth and progress.
Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo made these statements while addressing women at the Kogi Women’s One Voice Summit and Award Presentation, organized by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Hajiya Momo Gimba at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja.
Represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Deaconess Margaret Eleojo Salifu, the First Lady acknowledged the women’s unwavering dedication and commitment to encouraging positive changes in the state.
She maintained that when women unite and provide support for one another, their potential knows no bounds, enhancing the unique voice each woman possesses, which enriches and adds value to society.
Hajia Sefinat urged women to unite and speak with one voice to overcome any obstacles hindering their progress.
She took the opportunity to express gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for granting women 40% inclusion and representation in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for October 19th. She encouraged all participants to actively support the APC candidates in the elections.
