Gov Ododo Commited to Collaborating with Igala Monarchs for Regional Peace, Development, Affirmed Joel Salifu »

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, has confirmed Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s commitment to collaborating with the Igala Area Traditional Council for the peace and prosperity of the region.

During a courtesy visit to his residence in Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area, the Deputy Governor expressed Governor Ododo’s eagerness to work hand in hand with the traditional rulers. He praised Governor Ododo as a blessing to the people and called on the monarchs to prioritize promoting harmony among the various ethnic groups in the state.

Joel Salifu stressed the important role of traditional rulers as the primary link to the grassroots community. He stressed the government’s trust in them to effectively serve the people.

He emphasized the fatherly role traditional rulers play and their significance in fostering peace and development which are essential for the progress of the region. He maintained that as father figures they’re to remain impartial and advised them to refrain from involving themselves in partisan politics.

He pointed out that unlike the strategies adopted to punish them by the opposition party should they emerge, the state currently enjoys peace due to the Governor’s peaceful demeanor. He urged the monarchs to counsel Igala sons and daughters against criminal activities, assuring them that the government will not tolerate any form of criminal behavior in the state.

He lauded the monarchs for their visit and pledged to hold regular meetings with them to strategize for the continual peace and progress of the Igala Kingdom.

The Deputy Governor expressed his willingness to receive advice and constructive criticism, emphasizing that his doors are always open to all royal fathers for consultations.

Earlier, the Ejeh of Dekina and Spokesperson for the Igala Area Traditional Council, His Royal Highness Dr. Usman Obaje, conveyed their visit as a gesture of congratulations to the Governor and his Deputy on their triumph at the Supreme Court. He highlighted that the victory signifies a win for the people of the state and offered prayers for the continued good health and effective leadership of the Governor and his Deputy in steering the state in the right direction.
