Kogi State Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria Elects New Executive Team

The Kogi State Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), has elected a new executive team to steer the organization for the coming tenure. The elections, held in Lokoja, witnessed a strong turnout of youth representatives from various Christian denominations across the state, marking a significant moment for the Christian community in Kogi.

Leading the new executive team is Elder David Oladele Joel, who emerged as the Chairman. In his acceptance speech, Elder Joel expressed his deep appreciation for the confidence placed in him and vowed to uphold the values of the association. He emphasized the importance of engaging the youth in nation-building, spiritual growth, and economic empowerment through various programs and initiatives.

The new executive team also includes: Evang. Sokwo Emmanuel Mejida as Vice Chairman, Bro. Elias Samuel Unekwu as General Secretary, Bro. Iraese Samson as Assistant General Secretary and Pastor Emmanuel Ambassador Jacob as Treasurer.

Elder Joel, alongside his team, promised to focus on promoting Christian unity, skill acquisition programs for the youth, and fostering peaceful coexistence through interfaith dialogue within Kogi State.

The outgoing executive, led by SP. Dr. Owoyemi Alfred Olushola, congratulated the new team and encouraged them to continue the positive legacy that YOWICAN has built over the years. He stressed the importance of remaining focused on the association’s mission of empowering Christian youth to be leaders in both their faith and communities.
