NKFI Celebrates Graduation of 250 KOYESA Students with Empowering Starter Packs

The Nigeria Korea Friendship Institute of Vocational and Advanced Technology, Lokoja, has recently celebrated the graduation of over 200 students who were meticulously trained in nine innovative skills through the Kogi Youth Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Program (KOYESA). This grand ceremony was held at the distinguished Mohammad Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja.

During his opening address, the Rector of the Institute, Dr. Oluwatoyin Williams, expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, for his steadfast dedication to the advancement of Kogi State’s youth. Dr. Williams emphasized, “Your Excellency, your initiative serves as a beacon of hope and a strategic blueprint for sustainable development. You are indeed a trailblazer in this endeavor.”

Dr. Williams urged the graduates to leverage their newly acquired skills not only for personal advancement but also as a means to uplift their communities and contribute positively to the broader development of their state. He encouraged them to utilize their expertise to address challenges, create opportunities, and inspire those around them. “Be confident in your abilities and endeavor to make a tangible difference,” he added.

A notable highlight of the graduation ceremony was the distribution of starter packs to the graduates by Governor Usman Ododo. He assured the audience that the training initiative would be ongoing, with the government actively seeking ways to ensure the graduates’ full engagement in meaningful endeavors.

The training, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, spanned a comprehensive three-month period, providing students with rigorous, hands-on practical experience.

In a clarion call to stakeholders, politicians, and benevolent individuals, the Rector urged them to emulate the state government’s exemplary efforts. He advocated for channeling resources towards enrolling idle youth into the institute instead of providing them with temporary handouts, which do not offer sustainable solutions.
