Kogi Auditor General for Local Govt Engages Political Appointees’ Forums to Strengthen Governance, Grassroots Mobilization

In a strategic move to enhance coordination among government appointees and promote political cohesion, the Auditor General for Local Government in Kogi State, Alhaji Siyaka Adabenege (Famcy), convened a high-level meeting with leadership of political appointees. The meeting aimed to reinforce effective governance and sustain grassroots mobilization in support of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The gathering, held on Wednesday at the office of the Auditor General for Local Government, brought together the leadership of the Forum of Special Advisers, Forum of Senior Special Assistants, Forum of Local Government Special Assistants, and Ward Special Assistants. Also in attendance was the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe.
While addressing the forum, Alhaji Siyaka Adabenege commended the various groups for their dedication to delivering good governance through impactful projects and initiatives. He praised their loyalty to the Governor and acknowledged their role in advancing the administration’s objectives. The Auditor General conveyed a special message from Governor Ododo, emphasizing the importance of the meeting and reaffirming the Governor’s commitment to inclusive governance.
The meeting featured presentations from the different forums, highlighting their contributions to governance and grassroots engagement:
The Chairman of Special Advisers Forum, Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi lauded Governor Ododo’s leadership, describing it as people-oriented and focused on good governance. He noted the Ododo Free Medical Outreach, which provided free medical services to over 1,200 indigent residents of Kogi State, among other impactful initiatives.
On his part, the Chairman of Senior Special Assistants forum, Hon. Joseph Best Omeiza outlined the Governor Ododo Business Outreach, a low-capital business support initiative that provides financial assistance to petty traders across the state. He noted that the program is set to become a recurring empowerment scheme.
In their separate remarks, the Forum of Local Government Special Assistants and Ward Special Assistants: Hon. Jafar Kamaldeen and Hon. Mohammed Baba Sulaiman presented reports on various grassroots development projects, emphasizing their commitment to fostering good governance and community development over the past eight months.
Following the presentations, the meeting opened a session for observations, opinions, and suggestions on improving governance delivery. The discussions featured an in-depth review of ongoing policies and strategies for enhancing the impact of government initiatives at all levels.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Monday Anyebe, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, commended Governor Ododo for prioritizing good governance and ensuring continuous engagement with political appointees. He expressed confidence that such collaborative efforts would further drive the administration’s transformative agenda for the benefit of all Kogi residents.
