Kogi NYCN Deputy Chairman Describes Suspension as ‘Beer Parlor Declaration’

The ongoing turmoil in the Kogi State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has escalated, with Deputy Chairman Comrade Sunday Osiako dismissing his alleged suspension as unfounded and absurd, comparing it to a mere ‘beer parlor declaration.’

Osiako, who was allegedly suspended by the State Chairman, Comrade Benjamin Ojodale, rejected the decision, stating that it lacked due process and constitutional backing. He argued that the Chairman had no unilateral authority to suspend any council official without following the proper legal and procedural framework.

“This so-called suspension is nothing more than a beer parlor declaration, devoid of legitimacy. The Chairman has continued to run the council like his personal enterprise, disregarding the constitution and engaging in reckless leadership,” Osiako stated.

He accused the Chairman of several infractions, including mismanagement of council funds, character assassination, and general incompetence. According to him, the NYCN under Ojodale’s leadership has been plagued with irregularities that have hindered its progress.

“The Chairman’s destructive tendencies have gone unchecked for too long. We will not be silenced or intimidated. The truth about his misdeeds, including financial misappropriation and abuse of power, must come to light,” he added.

Osiako reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the integrity of the council, stating that he would not be distracted by any illegal suspension which he is sure was declared at a beer parlor.

“As a law-abiding citizen, I have my integrity intact and cannot be tarnished. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has provided the platform for youths to strive and through the leadership of the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, Kogi state youths and feeling the impact of inclusiveness and progress,” he added.
