Kogi Poly Rector Celebrates Yahaya Bello at 50, Hails Him as Bridge-Builder, Pathfinder

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Prof. (Chief) Salisu O. Usman, has joined other well-wishers to celebrate the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON, on the occasion of his 50th birthday.

In a goodwill message made available to the press, Prof. Usman described the former governor as a bridge-builder and pathfinder whose leadership style in the New Direction Administration transformed governance and elevated previously marginalized groups, particularly youth, women, and persons living with disabilities.

The Rector lauded Bello’s “zeal, boldness, doggedness, audacity, and progressive disposition,” noting that his leadership provided a strong shoulder for many to lean on. He further described Bello’s legacy as historic and barrier-breaking, stating that his achievements remain evident despite criticisms from detractors.

“In the words of Robert Greene, ‘Deeds do not lie,’” Prof. Usman said, emphasizing that the former governor’s contributions to the development of Kogi State are undeniable.

He concluded by offering prayers for Yahaya Bello’s continued good health, greater accomplishments, and increased wisdom in the years ahead.

Prof. Usman, who holds the traditional title of Oma’Oja Ata Igala, said he was honoured to be among those celebrating the golden jubilee milestone of a man he regards as a source of inspiration.
