Ankpa Council Chairman Receives Over 200 SDP Defectors to APC »

The Executive Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Ademu Muhammed Yahaya, on Tuesday formally received more than 200 former members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a well-attended reception in Ankpa Ward 1.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, their leader, Comrade Abdulrahim Idris explained that their decision to rejoin the APC was driven by a sense of duty and a belief in the developmental vision of the current administration. He noted that many of them had previously played key roles in securing victory for the APC in Ankpa Ward 1 before being persuaded to join the SDP. He credited Hon. Hajia Rabi Haruna, Special Adviser to the Governor on Girl Child Education, for facilitating their return, emphasizing their commitment to support the administration of Hon. Engr. Ademu Muhammed Yahaya in advancing development in the local government.

He urged APC members to welcome the returnees warmly, stressing the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving shared goals.

In his remarks, Hon. Engr. Ademu Muhammed Yahaya praised the defectors as exemplary party members and commended their decision to return. He described their homecoming as a strategic boost for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections, assuring them of equal opportunities within the party structure. He reiterated that Ankpa remains a stronghold of the APC and expressed confidence in the party’s ability to secure electoral victories at all levels.

The Chairman also called for the continued cooperation of party members and the new entrants to strengthen the party’s base and ensure sustained development in the area.

Hon. Audu Shuaibu as SSA on Security Matters

Hon. Engr. Ademu Muhammed Yahaya congratulated the appointees and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the local government and the party.
