Kogi Government Arrests Two More Kidnapping Informants in Okunland

The Kogi State Government has announced fresh breakthroughs in its ongoing crackdown on kidnapping informants in Okunland, with the arrest of two additional suspects linked to recent abduction activities.

In a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the arrests follow a confession made by Babatunde Aledare, a suspected informant earlier apprehended in Ayetoro Kiri, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area. Aledare reportedly provided critical intelligence that led to the arrest of two of his alleged accomplices.

The suspects identified as Dare Okegbe and Lakutu Omobab Ajelesimi, both residents of Ayetoro Kiri, have allegedly admitted to collaborating with kidnappers to facilitate the abduction of members of their own community.

“This development marks another significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to dismantle kidnapping networks in Okunland,” Fanwo stated, adding that more arrests are expected as investigations intensify.

Reaffirming the state government’s zero-tolerance stance on criminality, Fanwo emphasized the administration’s resolve to ensure the safety and security of all residents.

The arrests are part of a broader security operation targeting collaborators aiding kidnapping gangs in the region.
