KOSU Innovation Hub Director Appointed Facilitator for British Council Entrepreneurship Forum

The Director of the Kogi State University (KSU) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub, Dr. Fanisi Babatunde, has been appointed by the British Council as a Regional Facilitator under its Enhancing Entrepreneurship Education in Nigerian Higher Education Institutions (BC: EEE) Project.

His selection follows his participation in a high-level capacity-building workshop held in Abuja from Monday, 2nd June, to Wednesday, 4th June 2025.

In his new role, Dr. Fanisi will be responsible for cascading the training to other institutions within his assigned cluster, thereby advancing the integration of entrepreneurship education across tertiary institutions in the region. The British Council will provide full operational and technical support to ensure the programme’s successful rollout and impact.

This milestone represents yet another national recognition of Kogi State University’s rising prominence in innovation-driven education. It underscores the confidence of both local and international development partners in KSU, Kabba, under the visionary leadership of Professor K.I.T. Eniola, fNSM, FRA, as an emerging powerhouse in entrepreneurship education and innovation in Nigeria.

Professor Eniola, a strong advocate for distinguishing between arts, crafts, and entrepreneurship, is widely acknowledged as the architect of the University’s strategic shift from traditional classroom instruction to a competency-based learning approach. This transformation is equipping students with the skills to become problem-solvers, innovators, and job creators.

The establishment of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub designed as a platform for incubation, mentorship, and strategic capacity-building for both students and staff continues to yield tangible results, reinforcing the University’s growing influence within the national innovation ecosystem.

Notably, the University, through the Department of Mass Communication in collaboration with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub, recently facilitated the registration of five student-led businesses as part of its 2025 Mediapreneurship Pitchathon initiative.
