Hon. Charity Ijese Mourns Former ITF DG, Prof. Olu Akerejola

The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Youth and Women Mobilization, Hon. Charity Ijese, has condoled with the family and community of the late Professor Olu Akerejola, former Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), describing his passing as a painful loss to Kogi State and Nigeria.

In a condolence message on Tuesday, Ijese said Prof. Akerejola an indigene of Ogori in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area was a consummate academic, bridge-builder and patriot whose work ethic and devotion to national unity inspired a generation. She noted that as a daughter of the same local government, the news of his demise was particularly personal, adding that the distinguished scholar’s footprint in public service and mentorship remains an enduring legacy.

Ijese commiserated with the Akerejola family, the Ogori/Magongo traditional and community leadership, and the wider Kogi public, urging them to take solace in the exemplary life the late professor lived. She prayed for the repose of his soul and for strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.

The Special Adviser affirmed that Akerejola’s ideals of service, humility and unity would continue to guide younger leaders in Kogi State.
