Ankpa LG Chairman Constitutes Voter Registration Committee
The Executive Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Adamu Muhammed Yahaya, has inaugurated a 24-member central committee to oversee the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter registration exercise in the council area.
The committee, chaired by Prof. Usman Ogbo, has Engr. Adamu Yahaya as Co-Chairman, Hon. Suleiman Yakubu as Vice Chairman, Hon. Musa Idris as Secretary, and Hon. Ojochogu Marcus Okigbo as Assistant Secretary. Other members include Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, Rt. Hon. Rabiu Isiaka Alfa, and Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Kabir as Technical Advisers, alongside several notable figures across the local government.
Hon. Yahaya explained that the committee will coordinate mobilization across all 13 wards and polling units in Ankpa. To ensure wider coverage, each polling unit is expected to constitute 20 volunteers, supervised by ward leaders, to assist in sensitizing and registering eligible residents.
The Chairman commended stakeholders for their support through donations and charged members of the committee to work diligently towards ensuring maximum participation of citizens in the voter registration exercise.
The initiative, according to Yahaya, is aimed at enhancing voter turnout and strengthening democratic participation in Ankpa Local Government Area.
