Engr. Adamu Hosts Kogi Accountant-General, Commends Governor Ododo’s Impact in Ankpa

The Executive Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Adamu Muhammed Yahaya, on Tuesday, received the Accountant-General of Kogi State, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, who paid a thank-you visit to the council.
The visit was aimed at acknowledging the overwhelming support and solidarity demonstrated by the people of Ankpa during the recent visit of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to the area, which was marked by a massive turnout.
In his remarks, Engr. Adamu described the people’s support for Governor Ododo and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a wise and rewarding decision. He noted that Ankpa Local Government has recorded unprecedented development projects and several political appointments under the present administration.
“I am particularly overwhelmed, and on behalf of the peace-loving people of Ankpa LGA, I feel honoured to welcome you and your entourage. Your contributions to the financial management of our dear state and your unwavering support for the Governor’s vision of purposeful governance will not go unrewarded,” he said.
Engr. Adamu further emphasized that the council has benefited from projects never before witnessed in its history, adding that more indigenes of Ankpa have been entrusted with key positions due to their steadfast loyalty to the APC.
Also speaking at the event, the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Professor Salifu Usman Ogbo, commended Dr. Habibat for her gratitude-driven leadership style. He highlighted critical areas requiring urgent government intervention, including the Ankpa–Abejukolo road, Ankpa General Hospital, the Kogi State College of Education in Ankpa, electricity supply, and the non-functional Ankpa Water Board. These concerns were duly noted by the Accountant-General for onward transmission to the Governor.
Engr. Adamu, while reaffirming his support for Governor Ododo, remarked: “The choice of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as Chief Servant of Kogi State is not a misplaced priority. He is indeed a round peg in a round hole.”
He also described Dr. Habibat as a grassroots mobilizer and “mother of the voiceless,” praising her for playing a pivotal role in advancing the administration’s governance agenda.
The Council Chairman assured that Ankpa will remain a stronghold of the APC in future elections, pledging continued loyalty to the party beyond 2027.
In a lighter moment, Engr. Adamu requested that the Accountant-General, who also serves as the National Coordinator of the Fair Win Women Association of Nigeria (FAWWASS), extend membership to men. Dr. Habibat promptly approved the request, adding that a suitable name would be coined for the male wing before its official inauguration.
