Senator Isah Jibrin Secures Ajakagwu/Okete Road Project in 2025 Budget

The Ajakagwu/Okete Road Project has been captured in the 2025 national budget, following the intervention of Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho), who represents Kogi East Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

The project, which has been awarded to Ibec Tech W.A Limited, is expected to commence fully once disbursement is made by the federal government.

Confirming the development, Senator Jibrin explained that the road project had earlier been captured for grading in 2024 and will now be completed under the soon-to-be-implemented 2025 budget. He added that a signpost has already been mounted on the site to indicate its status.

The lawmaker also listed other road projects currently ongoing across Kogi East, including the construction of Hospital Road in Ajaka, Igalamela Local Government Area, Itobe township road, and Ejeh Ofu Street in Ugwolawo, among others.

While appreciating stakeholders who have shown interest in the Ajakagwu/Okete Road, Senator Jibrin urged them to extend similar support to other critical routes that require urgent attention. He identified Odu-Ofugo/Okete Road, Okwukwuleje Road, and Dekina/Okete Road as priority areas where collective action could make a significant impact.

“Road infrastructure is the backbone of economic growth and community development,” the senator said. “While Ajakagwu/Okete Road has received attention, there are other equally important routes that deserve support. I urge public-spirited individuals to look into these alternatives so that together, we can bring lasting solutions to the challenges faced by our people.”
