Dekina LG Chairman, Hon. John Urah Receives Broad Endorsement Ahead of 2027 Council Election
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dekina Local Government Area including state and local government appointees have unanimously endorsed the Executive Chairman, Hon. John Urah Ikani, for continuity in office through 2028.
The endorsement, described as a collective expression of confidence, reflects the stakeholders’ appreciation of his leadership style, performance, and commitment to grassroots development since taking office.
Under Hon. Ikani’s administration, Dekina has recorded notable progress in infrastructure renewal, youth engagement, women empowerment, support for widows and persons with disabilities, healthcare delivery, agricultural support, security, and improved community governance.
Stakeholders said the unanimous decision was driven by his inclusive approach, loyalty to party ideals, and steady responsiveness to public needs. They expressed confidence that extending his leadership will help consolidate ongoing gains and further strengthen development across the local government.
They also pledged their full support to ensure a smooth, distraction-free tenure for the chairman.

The event also drew senior special assistants, religious leaders, local government appointees, and supporters of Hon. Ikani from across Dekina.
