“New Year: Fresh Opportunity for Growth, Development”, Hon. Monday Anyebe
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Kogi State, Honourable Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, has congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of the New Year 2026, urging them to embrace hope, unity and a renewed commitment to the progress of Kogi.
In a New Year message released on Wednesday, Anyebe described 2026 as a year filled with opportunities for growth and transformation, particularly for young people across the state. He commended Kogites for their resilience and support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, noting that their cooperation remains critical to achieving sustainable development.
The commissioner reaffirmed the Ododo administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, sports development and skills acquisition, stressing that deliberate policies and programmes are being implemented to create jobs, nurture talent and promote social inclusion.
He called on youths to remain law-abiding, innovative and focused, while encouraging them to take advantage of government initiatives designed to support entrepreneurship, education and sporting excellence.
Anyebe also appealed to community leaders, parents and stakeholders to continue mentoring and guiding young people towards positive values, peace and responsible citizenship.
While wishing all Kogites a peaceful and prosperous New Year, the commissioner expressed optimism that 2026 would witness greater achievements in youth and sports development, driven by collective effort and a shared vision for a stronger Kogi State.
