Human Trafficking: Kogi SSA Visits NAPTIP, Seeks Stronger Collaboration

In a renewed effort to intensify the fight against human trafficking and related crimes in Kogi State, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Human Trafficking, Comrade Amodu Patience Avosuahi, has paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

The visit, which took place on January 20, 2026, at the NAPTIP Headquarters in Abuja, was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Kogi State Government and the federal agency in addressing human trafficking and protecting vulnerable populations across the state. She was accompanied on the visit by Mr. Aquila Edeh.

Discussions during the engagement focused on joint strategies for preventing human trafficking, enhancing the protection of vulnerable persons, and improving welfare and support services for survivors of trafficking in Kogi State.

Comrade Avosuahi reiterated her commitment to safeguarding women, children, and young people from all forms of exploitation, noting that the Kogi State Government remains determined to ensure that anti-trafficking policies translate into tangible protection and impact at the grassroots level.

She emphasized the importance of working closely with NAPTIP to position Kogi State as an active and proactive partner in the national campaign against human trafficking, stressing that effective action requires sustained collaboration and people-centred leadership.

The meeting stressed the shared resolve of both offices to deepen cooperation in tackling human trafficking, with a common understanding that ending the crime demands collective action, strong institutions, and unwavering political will.
