KSCOET Mopa Receives Governor Ododo on Working Visit, Secures Approval for Monthly Subvention, Reassurance for further Development
The Management of Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa, received the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on a working visit to the permanent site of the College.
During the visit, the Governor inspected key facilities across the campus and expressed satisfaction with the level of development and ongoing projects. He commended the Provost, Prof. M. K. Ibrahim, for a job well done, describing the progress recorded under his leadership as commendable and reassuring.
Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of unity, equity, and inclusiveness in the governance of Kogi State. He noted that the appointment of Prof. M. K. Ibrahim, an Igala from Kogi East, as Provost of the College in Mopa, Kogi West, was a deliberate and strategic decision by his administration to promote unity, mutual trust, and a sense of belonging among the diverse ethnic groups in the state.
In a major boost to the institution, the Governor approved the reinstatement of the College’s monthly subvention, a development that is expected to enhance the smooth running of the institution, improve staff welfare, and strengthen academic and administrative activities. He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the continued development of the College’s infrastructure, assuring that the institution would remain a priority in the state’s education development agenda.
The Governor also encouraged the Management, staff, and students to remain committed to excellence, discipline, and peaceful coexistence, while assuring them of sustained government support towards making the College a centre of technical and professional excellence in the state.
In his welcome address, the Provost, Prof. M. K. Ibrahim, expressed profound appreciation to the Governor for the visit, the approval of the monthly subvention, and his unwavering support for the growth and development of the College. He assured the Governor of the Management’s continued commitment to effective utilization of resources, maintenance of academic standards, and the pursuit of policies that would further reposition the institution for greater achievements.
