Peaceful Congresses Show Strength of Kogi APC Structure, Says Ododo

Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commended members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for what he described as the peaceful and successful conduct of the party’s Ward and Local Government Congresses.

In a message issued on Saturday, the governor congratulated party leaders, stakeholders and members across the 239 wards and 21 local government areas for the smooth conclusion of the internal party exercise. He said the transparent and widely accepted process reflected the unity and political maturity of the APC in Kogi State.

Ododo noted that the adoption of consensus arrangements in most areas underscored the party’s commitment to harmony and inclusiveness, placing collective interest above individual ambition. According to him, the calm and orderly atmosphere recorded throughout the state demonstrated the strength of the party’s structure and the confidence members have in its internal democratic processes.

The governor expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership of the country and the ruling party, stating that ongoing reforms at the national level continue to inspire members of the APC across the country.

He also commended the National Working Committee of the party for coordinating and supervising the congresses, as well as the State Working Committee for ensuring a hitch-free process in Kogi. Ododo further praised the committee from the party’s national headquarters that monitored the exercise in the state, describing their conduct as transparent and professional.

Congratulating those elected to lead the party at ward and local government levels for the next four years, the governor urged them to see their emergence as a call to service. He charged them to intensify grassroots mobilisation, strengthen unity within the party and uphold its guiding principles.

Ododo said the outcome of the congresses had reaffirmed the APC’s dominance and grassroots acceptance in Kogi State. He assured the President of the state’s continued support, pledging that the backing extended to Kogi would be reciprocated in the 2027 general elections.

He added that the APC in Kogi remains united and prepared to consolidate its gains and expand its political reach in the state.
