Ali Bello Inspects Lokoja Ultra-Modern Market Project, Reaffirms Kogi Govt’s Commitment
The Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Ali Bello, on Saturday conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing ultra-modern market project in Lokoja, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to timely delivery and quality infrastructure.
The inspection visit, which drew some government officials and project handlers, provided an opportunity for the Chief of Staff to assess the level of work done and the pace of construction at the expansive market site.
Addressing journalists shortly after touring the facility, Bello expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded so far, noting that the project aligns with the development vision of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to transform the state capital into a major commercial hub.
He emphasized that the ultra-modern market, when completed, would significantly boost economic activities in the state by providing a conducive and organized trading environment for businesses and investors.
“The project is a critical component of the administration’s urban renewal agenda. We are determined to ensure that it is delivered according to specification and within the stipulated timeframe,” he said.
Bello further assured that the government would continue to monitor the project closely to guarantee quality execution, while also urging contractors to maintain high standards and adhere strictly to agreed timelines.
Project engineers on site briefed the Chief of Staff on the scope of work, highlighting key components of the development, including modern stalls, access roads, and supporting infrastructure designed to meet international standards.
They also assured that construction is progressing steadily, with efforts in place to meet project milestones as scheduled.
The Lokoja ultra-modern market is part of Kogi State’s broader strategy to stimulate economic growth, enhance internally generated revenue, and position the state as a central trading destination in Nigeria.
Stakeholders who accompanied the Chief of Staff on the visit described the project as a game-changer, expressing optimism that it would create employment opportunities and improve the livelihoods of residents upon completion.
